Fibromyalgia

What is Fibromyalgia?
Fibromyalgia, sometimes referred to as fibrositis, is a chronic fatigue and pain syndrome. It is characterized by widespread pain in the muscles and soft tissue surrounding the joints throughout the body. An estimated 4-6 million Americans are affected by the disorder – or about 1 in every 73 adults. Ninety-five percent of sufferers are women.

  • Sleeping Disorders
  • Chest Pains
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Morning Stiffness
  • Numbness/Tingling
  • Tenderness in neck, spine, shoulders, and hips
  • "Fibro Fog"

Fibromyalgia Support Group
Julie Wiener co-hosts a CFIDS Fibromyalgia support group along with dr. Mitchell Simon, Chiropractor. Meetings are free, and are held in the office at 1842 Beacon St., Ste 203. Meetings will include discussion of self-help strategies, complementary treatments, gentle exercise tips, group support, Q & A, as well as guest speakers.

  When: Meetings will be held on the 1st Tuesday of every month.
